Crystal Odbc Drivers
There is a known issue with certain versions of Crystal Reports where the application is unable to open and browse tables and fields through an ODBC. Before creating a Crystal report, configure the ODBC settings on the computer you are using to create the report. These settings will prevent the user name, server. Hi there,We have installed Crystal 2008 but it does not appear to have installed any ODBC Drivers, when we installed Crystal v9 these were included. Are we missing.
Interesting, as the ODBC connection maintains the security for the database connection - that is each client (or server) authenticates to run the report. So it sounds like a naming issue in the database if both reports are using the same ODBC connection.
Odbc Drivers
What driver are you using for the ODBC Data Source? Whatever is stored in this can be ruled out at the problem as both reports use the same. This gives you a way to focus on the configuration within the Crystal Report that connect to the database - that is where the issue actually is. I agree with Trunker, it is most likely a naming issue for either the DB or table? Anything upgraded recently? Have you double checked the ODBC connection - Test? Assumption that the same person can open both reports on the same computer and one works the other doesn't.
Odbc Drivers Missing
So the only difference is the report everything else is the same. Ok, on verify database it says 'The database table 'lwmain' cannot be found. Proceed to remove this table from the report?
Then if I say yes or no, the next message is 'The database is up to date!' I've tried logging on and logging off to the database, deleting the database from the report and putting it back in. Nothing seems to help. If I create a new report exactly like the old one, run it, save it, and reopen it works great. The real issue is since nothing changed (no updates to server, or client) what the heck happened and do I have to recreate all my saved reports or is there a way to get it working again.
