Failing Drivers Test 3 Times California
Apr 11, 2008 What happens if you are OVER 18 and fail the driving test three times in California? Best Answer: If you fail the driving test three times, that voids the application, and you have to start all over. You would have to fill out the application again, pay the money over again, and take the written test over again. After that you would get a permit again to try drive test number four.
Hey Guys So as the title says. I failed my practical test 3 times now. I feel like my confidence is knocked down slightly. I am a good driver but feel that i make silly mistakes on the test day!!!!!:( 1st Test - Major fault for driving too slowly at the end and 3 cars overtook me. 2nd Test - Clipped.
2nd Test - Clipped curb whilst doing parallel parking (never done clipped the curb in my lessons before, i know my manoeuvres really well, I think nerves got the better of me!) 3rd Test - I apparently did not check my mirror when changing lanes. I committed major faults in all three tests which i am putting down to maybe nerves or just the fact that i am being watched:S I just don't think i can pass my test due to these silly mistakes i keep making! I am a good driver during my lessons and don't make mistakes like these! What can i do to help? Any ideas, tips suggestions please??:( I really want to pass my next test.
Its getting so expensive!!!!! There is a definite pattern to the errors you are making, as I'm sure your driving instructor has pointed out. The errors, are all to do with planning and awareness, make yourself more aware of your surroundings and the implications of your actions, the examiner has failed you because although there was no immediate danger or inconvenience to other road users, had this been a different day, the car you were driving too close to may have had reason to brake hard and you would have collided. Waiting in a box junction is contrary to the highway code and it is your responsibility to make yourself aware. The bus lane situation is also a planning issue, of course you recognized it was a bus lane but did not notice the sign that would have stated the times it was in operation. The driving examiner is correct, you are almost there but you're planning has to improve.
Look further ahead and scan. Every sign you see, should be recognized before you get on top of it. I say to my learners,' if you see a road sign from a mile away you won't be able to read what it says but you know by the shape whether it's a warning instructional or information sign, when you get closer you then see the detail necessary.' Good luck on your next test.
And plan to pass. By the sound of it it is just down to nerves. Don't worry about the last three attempts everyone learns and works at different paces (I personally failed my theory 3 times before passing. I passed the practical first try though with 7 minors (two of which where for mirrors) try to converse a little with the instructor, there not there to belittle you, only to make sure your safe On the roads. Do you have a lesson before your test?
I found it to be very useful for finding last minute faults. The best advice though would be to take a few deep breaths and keep calm. Well for the first one, that is dangerous because you are slowing down traffic. L would imagine this was on a 30-60mph road and you was going way beyond that?
Second one, that unfortunately consistutes as a fail, even though it happens on a daily basis with experienced drivers. Third one - BIG FAIL! You need to start practicing more.
You must always check your mirrors when speeding up, slowing down, changing lanes, and any change of direction and manouvering. You just need more practice on all of those things. After mastering them, l don't see why you'd fail your 4th test. I passed yesterday on my 5th try, after my third I was saying/thinking the exact same things. I failed my first for Lane discipline on an island, my second because I actually went through and red light!
And my third was the same as yours, a mirror check and forth for entering a main road from a minor road too slowly, all really silly, stupid and expensive mistakes. Don't beat yourself up, just keep in mind 'never a mistake, always a lesson!' And learn from it. Definitely don't give up, work on the basics and have another go.
I nearly gave up, but so glad I didn't, Passing is a great feeling! When it comes to your next test, just think how nervous people are taking theirs for the first time, you know what to expect and you have the knowledge, don't think about failing, think about showing them what you know. Good Luck!:).
